A Thousand Li Mountains Marble & Lacquer

This is the same Song Dynasty masterpiece by Wang Ximeng (who painted it at age 18 — one of art history's greatest prodigies), distilled into a single marble panel. The original 12-meter handscroll spans an epic landscape; this panel captures its most iconic peak-and-water composition.

It's a smaller format (100x150mm, roughly 4x6 inches, framed to a modest size). The detail work is still fully hand-carved and lacquered, just on a more compact scale that makes it accessible.

Yes — it's a solid natural marble slab (not resin, not composite). The carving is hand-incised by master artisans, then finished with 7+ coats of traditional Chinese raw lacquer — the same material used for millennia on Chinese lacquerware. The lacquer seals and protects the stone while giving it a warm, deep luster that never yellows.

Each panel ships in a custom double-layered crate: a foam-lined inner box suspends the marble, and a reinforced plywood outer crate absorbs impact. We've shipped hundreds worldwide with less than 0.5% damage rate. Free replacement if yours arrives damaged.

Each panel comes with pre-installed heavy-duty hanging hardware (two D-rings with wire, tested up to 30kg / 66lbs). You'll need a standard wall anchor rated for 15kg+ (not included). We recommend a 2-person lift for panels over 600mm wide.

Dust gently with a soft microfiber cloth. For smudges, lightly dampen with water — no soap, no chemicals, no abrasive cleaners. Keep out of direct UV sunlight for prolonged periods. The lacquer finish is UV-stable, but natural stone pigments can fade over decades in direct sun.

Each piece is individually hand-carved. No two are identical — the natural marble veining, the artisan's tool marks, and the lacquer application all create subtle variations. You're buying a genuine original, not a factory reproduction.
