First-Use Ritual

Awakening the Clay & Silver

Before your very first pour, we invite you to perform a quiet awakening ritual. This gentle ceremony dispels kiln heat, relaxes the clay pores, and prepares the vessel for a lifetime of companion sips.

01
Gentle Simmer

Place your chalice in a pot of clean water, gently bring it to a mild simmer, and let it rest immersed for 3 to 5 minutes.

02
Natural Cooling

Turn off the heat. Allow the chalice to cool down completely inside the water at room temperature to temper the clay naturally.

03
Soft Linen Dry

Rinse with fresh lukewarm water, gently pat dry with a soft cloth, and let it rest in an airy space. Your sacred bloom is now awakened.

Artisan Advice: Never rush with cold water immediately after boiling to protect the silver glaze from thermal shock.

The Soul of This Piece

“An autumn morning frozen in clay—where golden osmanthus blooms and a silver-winged honeybee rests in quiet warmth.”

This collection is a tactile ode to the sensory splendor of autumn. Hand-pinched from rough, iron-speckled stoneware, each vessel serves as a rustic canvas for living nature: clusters of tiny golden osmanthus (sweet olive) blossom along deep green glazed leaves, while a dimensional, three-dimensional honeybee—adorned with delicate 780°C gilded silver wings—alights gently near your fingertips.

The contrast between the earthy, rain-washed ceramic texture and the luminous botanical glazes creates a piece that feels less like kitchenware and more like an organic sculpture found in an overgrown courtyard.

DIY inspiration

  • The Art of Morning Coffee & Latte Flow:
The wide-rimmed silhouette and organic earthen walls provide the ideal frame for delicate swan latte art or creamy morning flat whites, turning everyday caffeine rituals into visual poetry.
  • The Meditative Tea & Pastry Pairing:
Pair the straight-sided or belly mug with the matching floral wreath plate. Use the plate to cradle delicate wagashi, artisanal cookies, or a warm scone while your herbal infusion steeps.
  • A Living Studio Altar Piece:
Beyond beverages, let it rest on a sunlit wooden windowsill, open bookshelf, or creative desk. Fill it with dried lavender, wild botanical sprigs, or simply allow it to shine as a standalone centerpiece.

Handcrafted Tales

The inspiration for this series was born on a late autumn morning in the studio courtyard. As gentle autumn rain touched the ground, the intoxicating fragrance of blooming sweet osmanthus drifted through the damp air, accompanied by the gentle hum of bees gathering the last sweet nectars before winter.

Captivated by this fleeting stillness, ceramicist Tachikawa set out to capture the sensory memory of autumn in enduring stoneware. The earthy, weathered body mirrors the mossy stone walls of the courtyard after rainfall, while the hand-sculpted golden florets and silver-winged bee immortalize nature’s most fragrant, golden season.

Artisanship

  • 100% Hand-Pinched Stoneware:
Every cup and plate is organically shaped by hand without mechanical molds, celebrating subtle finger impressions, natural rim undulations, and unique rustic silhouettes.
  • Dimensional High-Relief Sculpting:
Each tiny osmanthus petal and leaf is individually hand-rolled, attached, and detailed from raw clay, creating a lively 3D relief that gracefully wraps around the vessel’s contours.
  • Pure Gilded Silver Accent Firing:
The honeybee’s wings are finished with genuine silver overglaze and fired at a precise 780°C, adding a shimmering, heirloom-grade metallic luster that gently patinas over time.
  • Rich Wabi-Sabi Mineral Glazing:
High-fired at over 1200°C with mineral-rich speckled glazes, yielding deep forest-green leaves, sunlit golden flower hearts, and a warm, tactile stone-like body.

Artisan Craft & Care FAQ

Are these chalices really 100% handcrafted?

Yes, absolutely. Every piece is hand-pinched, sculpted, and glazed individually by artisan Tachikawa. Because no mass molds or machines are used, natural studio variations in curvature, subtle touch marks, and slight dimension/volume differences are authentic signatures of genuine handcraft. Every single chalice is a 1-of-1 unique art piece.

Why does the silver glaze change color over time?

We use genuine high-purity silver flux fired at 780°C. Like fine antique silverware, authentic silver naturally oxidizes and warms into a subtle golden or vintage patina through time and touch—this is the poetic charm of wabi-sabi. If you prefer its original mirror-like luster, simply buff it gently with an agate burnisher or a soft silver polishing cloth to easily restore its brilliance.

How do I clean and care for this vessel daily?

First-Use Ritual: Submerge your new chalice in boiling water for 3–5 minutes, then turn off the heat and let it cool down naturally to awaken the clay.
Daily Washing: Hand wash only using a delicate soft sponge. Never use steel wool or harsh abrasive pads. Dry thoroughly and store in a ventilated dry place.
Strict Restrictions: Due to genuine metallic silver, it is STRICTLY PROHIBITED in microwaves, dishwashers, ovens, and UV disinfection cabinets. Avoid sudden extreme temperature shocks and prolonged contact with strong acids or carbonated sodas.

How long does shipping take? Why does it take 2–7 days?

Orders are dispatched within 2 to 7 business days. Each chalice is carefully inspected and accompanied by an individually hand-painted original art card by Tachikawa, followed by multi-layered shockproof packaging. This thoughtful preparation takes time, and we appreciate your patience for true artisan work.

What if my fragile piece arrives damaged?

We take full responsibility for your peace of mind:
• If the outer parcel is visibly battered/crushed upon arrival, please file an immediate claim with the courier.
• If the shipping box arrives intact but the chalice inside is compromised, simply share an unbroken unboxing video with us. We will issue a 100% full replacement or full refund immediately. Safe shopping with zero hassle.

BEHIND THE CRAFT

Artisanal Signatures & Individuality

Every chalice is sculpted entirely by hand, making each piece a one-of-a-kind creation. Subtle tool marks, organic glaze flow, and gentle curvature variations are natural footprints of genuine studio handcraft, not flaws. *Note: Volume and dimensions are measured by hand and intended as close references.

780°C Gilded Silver Care & Guidelines

The metallic bloom is created with pure silver flux fired at 780°C. Due to real silver content, it is STRICTLY PROHIBITED in microwaves, dishwashers, and ovens. Avoid sudden extreme temperature shifts and scratching against hard/sharp objects. Genuine silver naturally mellows and oxidizes with time and use—gently buff with a polishing cloth to revive its luster, and wash with a soft sponge immediately after each use.

Dispatch & Hand-Drawn Art Card (2–7 Days)

Please allow 2 to 7 business days for careful dispatch. Each order includes a one-of-a-kind colored pencil art card individually hand-painted by Tachikawa, followed by multi-layered protective packaging to ensure a safe journey from the artist's studio to your hands.

Zero-Hassle Damage Guarantee

We stand firmly behind our craft:
Damaged Outer Box: Please submit an immediate damage claim directly to the delivery courier.
Intact Box but Broken Piece: Simply record an uninterrupted unboxing video and contact us within 48 hours—we will issue a 100% full refund or free replacement immediately. Collect handmade art with total confidence.

Care & Preserving Silver Brilliance

Soft Sponge Washing

Hand wash gently using lukewarm water and a soft sponge. Never use steel wool, abrasive scouring pads, or automatic dishwashers to prevent scratching the silver glaze.

No Microwaves or Ovens

Contains genuine metallic silver: strictly prohibited in microwaves, ovens, and sterilization cabinets. Avoid thermal shocks and leaving strong acidic or carbonated drinks overnight.

Dry & Ventilated Storage

After each wash, gently wipe the cup dry with a clean linen towel. Store it in an airy, dry environment away from dampness to keep the raw clay and silver foot pristine.

Restoring Lunar Luster

Natural silver gently develops a warm antique patina over time. To revive its original mirror-like glow, lightly burnish the surface with an agate knife or a jewelry polishing cloth.
