The Soul of This Piece
A Whole Ocean, Held in Your Hand
Some beauty is meant to be held, not hurried. This is not a fan you simply wave on a warm day — it is a secret sea captured in silk and light, carried down the aisle in the palm of your hand. Across a face of lilac-purple silk, a mermaid’s tail unfurls in shimmering waves, curling around a single seashell that cradles one luminous pearl. Coral, starfish, and drifting jellyfish glow around it like a tide at dusk. It’s the kind of piece that turns a wedding photograph into a memory, and a quiet gesture into something unforgettable.

The Making
Beaded Entirely by Hand
Every scale of this mermaid’s tail is placed by hand — thousands of tiny glass beads, sequins, freshwater pearls and semi-precious stones, stitched one by one onto silk satin through the patient art of French bead embroidery. The seashell opens to reveal a real pearl at its heart, coral branches rise in coral-red thread, and no two pieces are ever quite the same. There are no prints and no machines here. Just slow, devoted handwork, mounted on a warm, hand-finished sandalwood handle you’ll feel the moment you hold it.
An Original, Protected Design
This is not a copy of anything. The mermaid, the ocean, and every shell and pearl are an original design by HE HUAN XI — copyright protected — so the piece in your hand is a genuine artist’s creation, not a mass-market imitation. The lilac-and-pearl palette carries the romance of a traditional bridal palace fan, while the beadwork gives it a luminous, jewel-like glow that shifts with the light. It’s a statement of taste for anyone who values the handmade over the ordinary.
Artisanship
Made to Order, Made to Treasure
Because each fan is embroidered entirely by hand, yours is created only after you order — please allow around 1 month, subject to the current waitlist. That wait is part of the story: someone is placing every bead, every pearl, for you. Carry it down the aisle, hold it for a hanfu or bridal portrait, display it on a stand as living decor, or gift it to someone who deserves something truly rare. Long after the day is over, it remains — a whole ocean, kept forever in your hands.
Bespoke Order FAQ
Because every fan is embroidered entirely by hand, each piece is made to order. 1) You place your order and, if you'd like a color or detail variation, send us a note. 2) Our artisan confirms the design, palette, and handle finish with you. 3) The butterfly is beaded onto the silk gauze bead by bead. 4) Once complete, your fan is carefully packaged and shipped to you.
Yes — no printing, no machine stitching. Hundreds of glass beads, sequins, freshwater pearls and faceted crystals are placed one by one onto a sheer silk ground through the patient art of French bead embroidery. This is why no two fans are ever exactly alike: slight variations in bead placement and tassel flow are the fingerprint of genuine handwork, not flaws.
True handwork can't be rushed. Every fan enters our artisans' queue and is then beaded, assembled, and mounted on its sandalwood handle entirely by hand. Please allow approximately 1 month from order confirmation, which includes both the waitlist and the crafting itself, before your piece ships. That wait is part of the story — someone is placing every single bead, just for you.
The fan face is a sheer silk gauze in deep red and gold, and the handle is genuine hand-finished sandalwood (~17 cm), warm to the touch. The fan face measures about ø 18 cm (ø ~20 cm overall). Every bead, pearl and crystal is hand-stitched and secured, so with gentle care your fan stays as luminous as the day it was made. This is an original, copyright-protected design — a genuine artist's creation, not a mass-market imitation.
Absolutely. Once your fan is completed, we ship worldwide. Each piece is carefully packaged in protective presentation packaging, fully tracked, and insured, so your hand-beaded heirloom arrives in pristine condition — ready for the aisle, the photo shoot, or the display stand.
BEHIND THE CRAFT
Hand-Beaded Artistry
Each fan is embroidered entirely by hand through the art of French bead embroidery — hundreds of glass beads, sequins, freshwater pearls and crystals placed one by one onto a sheer silk ground, then mounted on a genuine sandalwood handle. Because there's no printing and no machine stitching, no two fans are ever exactly alike. Subtle differences in bead placement and tassel flow are the fingerprint of true handmade art.
Care & Handling
Handle your fan gently by the sandalwood handle and avoid pulling on the beaded tassels. Keep it away from water, perfume, and direct sunlight to protect the delicate silk gauze and preserve the vivid red-and-gold beadwork. When not in use, rest it on a display stand or store it flat in its box to keep the butterfly pristine.
Return & Exchange Policy
As each fan is made to order and hand-embroidered just for you, custom pieces cannot be returned for a change of mind. However, your satisfaction matters — if your fan arrives damaged in transit, simply contact us within 48 hours with clear photos and we'll arrange a repair or replacement right away.
Secure Global Delivery
Because each piece is made to order, please allow approximately 1 month of handcrafting time (waitlist included) before dispatch. Your fan is then wrapped in protective presentation packaging and shipped worldwide by tracked air freight. Estimated delivery: Europe 10–14 days · US/Canada 14–21 days · Other regions 14–28 days after dispatch.
Fan Care & Handling
Handle with Care
Always hold your fan by its sandalwood handle and avoid tugging the beaded tassels. Gentle handling keeps every hand-stitched bead and pearl securely in place.
Keep Away From Moisture
Protect the delicate silk gauze from water, perfume, and humidity. Moisture can dull the beadwork and mark the fabric, so always keep your fan dry.
Avoid Direct Sunlight
Display and store your fan away from prolonged direct sun. Strong light over time can fade the rich red-and-gold palette of the silk and beads.
Store With Care
When not on display, rest your fan on a stand or lay it flat in its box, away from heavy items. This keeps the butterfly and tassels beautifully intact for years.
