The Soul of This Piece
Awakening the Clay & Silver
Before your very first pour, we invite you to perform a quiet awakening ritual. This gentle ceremony dispels kiln heat, relaxes the clay pores, and prepares the vessel for a lifetime of companion sips.
Place your chalice in a pot of clean water, gently bring it to a mild simmer, and let it rest immersed for 3 to 5 minutes.
Turn off the heat. Allow the chalice to cool down completely inside the water at room temperature to temper the clay naturally.
Rinse with fresh lukewarm water, gently pat dry with a soft cloth, and let it rest in an airy space. Your sacred bloom is now awakened.
“A wild botanical sanctuary held in your hands—where spotted orchids bloom and a iridescent beetle wanders across sunlit earth.”
Born from the Natural Garden Collection (自然花园系列 · 蝴蝶兰园集锦), this vessel dissolves the boundary between functional stoneware and living botanical micro-ecology. Hand-pinched with intentional clay undulations and warm iron speckles, the mug blossoms with three-dimensional, sculpted Phalaenopsis orchids—their spotted petals flaring dramatically outward alongside a delicate budding stem and an intricately glazed symbiotic garden beetle.
Holding this piece is not merely drinking; it is touching the tactile pulse of a wild, thriving greenhouse after morning mist.

With its generous ~350ml capacity and wide rim, it is the quintessential canvas for silky flat whites, oat milk lattes, or ceremonial matcha froth framed by sculpted petals. - Botanical Planter & Studio Micro-Garden:
Embrace its organic nature by using it as a tabletop planter for trailing air plants, maidenhair ferns, or baby succulents, turning your desk into a living sanctuary. - Artisanal Still-Life & Desktop Sculpture:
When resting empty between sips on a wooden table, open bookshelf, or linen runner, the dramatic 3D relief catches shifting natural daylight, serving as a captivating standalone art sculpture.
Handcrafted Tales
This piece originated from quiet moments spent observing the interconnected life within a sunlit botanical conservatory. Ceramicist Tachikawa was inspired by the harmony of epiphytic orchids growing wild on weathered bark—how delicate spotted petals, climbing aerial stems, and tiny pollinating insects coexist in effortless balance.
Rather than painting flat botanical patterns, the artist sought to give the orchid and its garden visitor tactile, sculptural life. By pinching each petal and beetle carapace from wet clay and firing them onto a wabi-sabi textured body, Tachikawa immortalized this fleeting garden dialogue into a functional everyday treasure.
Artisanship
- 100% Hand-Pinched & Wheel-Assisted Stoneware:
Crafted from a custom blend of high-white and raw coarse stoneware clay, featuring an organic, slightly undulating rim that fits naturally against the lips and palms. - Dimensional High-Relief Floral & Insect Sculpting:
Each orchid petal, curled lip, and insect wing is individually modeled by hand without molds, ensuring breathtaking three-dimensional depth and unique organic curves. - Layered Mineral & Multi-Hue Glazing:
High-fired above 1200°C with mineral-rich glazes—vivid tangerine with indigo speckles, dusty periwinkle blue, spring-green sepals, and an iridescent peacock-glazed beetle. - Hand-Signed Studio Seal:
Each finished piece is personally inscribed and stamped by the artist at the base (Tachikawa 🌸), marking it as an authentic 1-of-1 studio original.
Artisan Craft & Care FAQ
Yes, absolutely. Every piece is hand-pinched, sculpted, and glazed individually by artisan Tachikawa. Because no mass molds or machines are used, natural studio variations in curvature, subtle touch marks, and slight dimension/volume differences are authentic signatures of genuine handcraft. Every single chalice is a 1-of-1 unique art piece.
We use genuine high-purity silver flux fired at 780°C. Like fine antique silverware, authentic silver naturally oxidizes and warms into a subtle golden or vintage patina through time and touch—this is the poetic charm of wabi-sabi. If you prefer its original mirror-like luster, simply buff it gently with an agate burnisher or a soft silver polishing cloth to easily restore its brilliance.
First-Use Ritual: Submerge your new chalice in boiling water for 3–5 minutes, then turn off the heat and let it cool down naturally to awaken the clay.
Daily Washing: Hand wash only using a delicate soft sponge. Never use steel wool or harsh abrasive pads. Dry thoroughly and store in a ventilated dry place.
Strict Restrictions: Due to genuine metallic silver, it is STRICTLY PROHIBITED in microwaves, dishwashers, ovens, and UV disinfection cabinets. Avoid sudden extreme temperature shocks and prolonged contact with strong acids or carbonated sodas.
Orders are dispatched within 2 to 7 business days. Each chalice is carefully inspected and accompanied by an individually hand-painted original art card by Tachikawa, followed by multi-layered shockproof packaging. This thoughtful preparation takes time, and we appreciate your patience for true artisan work.
We take full responsibility for your peace of mind:
• If the outer parcel is visibly battered/crushed upon arrival, please file an immediate claim with the courier.
• If the shipping box arrives intact but the chalice inside is compromised, simply share an unbroken unboxing video with us. We will issue a 100% full replacement or full refund immediately. Safe shopping with zero hassle.
BEHIND THE CRAFT
Artisanal Signatures & Individuality
Every chalice is sculpted entirely by hand, making each piece a one-of-a-kind creation. Subtle tool marks, organic glaze flow, and gentle curvature variations are natural footprints of genuine studio handcraft, not flaws. *Note: Volume and dimensions are measured by hand and intended as close references.
780°C Gilded Silver Care & Guidelines
The metallic bloom is created with pure silver flux fired at 780°C. Due to real silver content, it is STRICTLY PROHIBITED in microwaves, dishwashers, and ovens. Avoid sudden extreme temperature shifts and scratching against hard/sharp objects. Genuine silver naturally mellows and oxidizes with time and use—gently buff with a polishing cloth to revive its luster, and wash with a soft sponge immediately after each use.
Dispatch & Hand-Drawn Art Card (2–7 Days)
Please allow 2 to 7 business days for careful dispatch. Each order includes a one-of-a-kind colored pencil art card individually hand-painted by Tachikawa, followed by multi-layered protective packaging to ensure a safe journey from the artist's studio to your hands.
Zero-Hassle Damage Guarantee
We stand firmly behind our craft:
• Damaged Outer Box: Please submit an immediate damage claim directly to the delivery courier.
• Intact Box but Broken Piece: Simply record an uninterrupted unboxing video and contact us within 48 hours—we will issue a 100% full refund or free replacement immediately. Collect handmade art with total confidence.
Care & Preserving Silver Brilliance
Soft Sponge Washing
Hand wash gently using lukewarm water and a soft sponge. Never use steel wool, abrasive scouring pads, or automatic dishwashers to prevent scratching the silver glaze.
No Microwaves or Ovens
Contains genuine metallic silver: strictly prohibited in microwaves, ovens, and sterilization cabinets. Avoid thermal shocks and leaving strong acidic or carbonated drinks overnight.
Dry & Ventilated Storage
After each wash, gently wipe the cup dry with a clean linen towel. Store it in an airy, dry environment away from dampness to keep the raw clay and silver foot pristine.
Restoring Lunar Luster
Natural silver gently develops a warm antique patina over time. To revive its original mirror-like glow, lightly burnish the surface with an agate knife or a jewelry polishing cloth.
